The writers for The Mandalorian Season 2 revealed. We explore what this could mean for the introduction of Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano. Read on for more details.
We now know who write each episode of The Mandalorian Season 2. As you’d guess, the lion’s share were written by showrunner John Favreau, but not all. Intriguingly Dave Filoni wrote Episode 5, and does make us wonder whether that might be when Ahsoka first appears. It would make sense for Filoni to write for Ashsoka the first time in live-action, but this is just a guess for now.
The writers were all revealed by checking the entries in the Writers Guild of America, (WGA). I’ll save you a click by listing them here. Dave Filoni wrote Episode 5, Rick Famuyiwa wrote Episode 7, and John Favreau wrote the rest.

My feelings, are that if Ahsoka was always going to show up in Mando S2, then Favreau would have wanted Filoni to write and direct that episode. I have no evidence to base that on, I’m just making a judgement call. However, I do feel like there is a good chance I’m, going to be proved correct. Unfortunately, it’ll likely be another seven weeks at least before we know if that guess is good or not.
This writing schedule pretty much matches Season 1 of The Mandalorian also. Famuyiwa/Yost and Filoni wrote an episode each, and Favreau wrote the others. However, when you look at the episode Taiki Waititi directed at the climax of Season 1, it’s clear that the director gets a lot of say on script changes during filming. That Waititi Episode had some moments which you just know were all him.
