Dawson and Olyphant are confirmed for The Mandalorian Season 2 by Disney+ Germany’s Instagram account. It has been strongly rumored for some time that Rosario Dawson was playing Ashoka Tano. In fact, it was so strongly rumored it was really a sure thing. Yet, there were some fans not prepared to believe it? It was also strongly rumored that Timothy Olyphant would be playing Cobb Vanth. Vanth, who first appeared in the Aftermath novels is expected to be wearing Boba Fett’s armor. We also pretty much know Temeura Morrision is playing both Boba Fett and Captain Rex in The Mandalorian.
The reveal, I’m sure was a mistake and it came from an Instagram story from Disney+ Germany. You can check a captured video courtesy of the folks at KRT below. You won’t understand it unless you speak German, but the important parts you’ll get.

The pieces are starting to fit together now. Clearly The Mandalorian is connected to the story of Ahsoka, Sabine, the Darksaber and the Rebels series in general. If, you’ll remember, LRM‘s source gave us some more information. We were told that Ahsoka will get a spin-off series that will connect with The Mandalorian. Not only that, but there was also a Boba Fett, and an Ezra Bridger show coming too. These four shows and possibly one other will form a new overall story, connecting these characters into something bigger. What that ‘bigger’ may be, is still unknown?

For now we can only speculate on how The Mandalorian will begin connecting to the story of Ahsoka Tano. One would guess ‘The Child’ would be important for Ahsoka, not to mention the connections between Sabine Wren and Mando. Clearly there is some backstory we don’t yet know with Moff Gideon, but he got that Darksaber somehow. And where is Ezra Bridger and Grand Admiral Thrawn? We may start to get some answers soon. The Mandalorian Season 2 begins on October 30th. Kyle Malone and Myself will be chatting on podcast after each episode, so keep an eye out for more details.
