The X-Files -Fox Developing Animated Comedy Spin-Off

Apparently, the truth is still out there as an animated spin-off of The X-Files comedy series is being developed over at Fox. The series will follow a ragtag team of lower-level agents based in Albuquerque, New Mexico who investigate the weird and wild cases that not even Fox Mulder would want to his name associated with such incidents.

This as you may have noticed, seems a similar concept to Star Trek: Lower Decks. Which is also animated and focuses on the lower-level members of Star Fleet. And debuted earlier this month. Jeremy Sosenko and Rocky Russo will write and executive produce the series. Original series creator Chris Carter returning to executive produce as well.

The X-Files is one of the first television shows that I remember binging thanks to TNT who would sometimes run marathons of the sci-fi series. I may never understand how after all the weird and unexplainable happenings Agent Scully witnessed while working cases with Mulder, she remained a staunch skeptic. Though I can’t say too much, after 2-3 cases, I would have probably just quit.

I wouldn’t mess around with that kind of stuff. However, a couple of guys who do mess around are Sam and Dean Winchester. I would have loved for them to somehow run into Agents Mulder and Scully. It would have been awesome. Bummer, but at least we did get ‘ScoobyNatural.”
