They Live In The Grey | Abel And Burlee Vang On Fighting For Their Horror Feature [Exclusive]

They Live In The Grey

Today is the release of Shudder’s They Live In The Grey. This is a horror feature film from the siblings Abel and Burlee Vang. Everyone handles negative emotions like regret and sorrow in many different ways. Sometimes we hang onto those feelings way too long to the point where it can become haunting or feel like a possession. One that can dangerously dictate the way you handle your day-to-day. Leading them to live in the grey.

With the release of the Shutter Original, They Live In The Grey, LRM Online‘s Emmanuel Gomez talked with the Vang brothers about the film. What makes their film special is the meaning behind the film. It’s a story based on some of the feelings and emotions their mother had been keeping from them for years, after losing their brother at a young age. They are very close to their parents to the point where they help them on set. Sometimes with projects, sometimes with food, but always with their full-hearted support.

They share with us these stories during the interview. As well as share with us their thoughts on their lead actress Michelle Krusiec, who they had to fight for to be their lead. Studios were interested in their story, just not an Asian-American actress. Luckily, Shudder believed in what they were trying to make and took the film as the brothers intended to shoot it. For them, it was very important to have representation for the many Asian-Americans that live here in the states that are just like everyone else. They did not want to have to lean on heavy cultural references but instead focused on their story. It was a fantastic interview that you can check out down below!

Here is the synopsis for the Shudder Original, They Live In The Grey.

They Live in The Grey follows Claire (Krusiec). While investigating a child abuse case, she discovers that the family is being tormented by a supernatural entity. In order to save the family, she must confront her own fears and use her emerging clairvoyance to stop the malevolent force.
