It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything on the Thor: Ragnarok front. The flick is still almost a full year away — with two other Marvel Cinematic Universe films set to hit theaters before it — but that hasn’t stopped us from curiously searchingout all we can from the production. Sure, it may carry the moniker of Thor, but as far as we’re concerned, it’s a Thor/Hulk teamup film, and as such, it brings with it a whole lot more excitement.

We weren’t expecting a whole lot from this film anytime soon, but that just sort of adds to the surprise. A Twitter account named @Thai_Superhero recently posted a new photo, which is claimed to be a legit piece of promo art.

Check it out below.

It’s an interesting discussion piece, to be sure. Hulk is clad in his gladiator-inspired armor, which is a look that was ripped straight out of the Planet Hulk comic. Perhaps the most interesting detail comes in the form of Thor himself, who is sporting some war paint on his face (which seems to go along with the whole gladiator thing). The strange thing — apart from his very un-Chris Hemworth-like face — is the complete absence of Mjolnir, Thor’s magic hammer that he’s wielded since the first film. Perhaps there will be a period in which he will be Mjolnir-less, which would be a great time for him to start kicking ass on his own.

Also of note are a series of shots from CCXP in Brazil, and on display were both Hulk and Thor. Of note there was a shot that Comicbook.com is claiming to be Hulk’s hammer. Not sure how credible that is — to me, it just looks like a display of Mjolnir, but it’sa bit difficult to say.

What do you think of these first promo pieces for Thor: Ragnarok? Do they have you excited to see Hulk and Thor hitting the big screen together next year? Let us know your thoughts down below!

Thor: Ragnarok hits theaters on November 3, 2017.
