Thor: The Dark World Theory Connects It To Avengers 4 And Ant-Man And The Wasp

Thor: The Dark World has not really stood the test of time, and has become regarded as one of the poorer efforts in the MCU so far. Personally, whilst it’s never going to be one of my favorite movies, there was enough in there to enjoy and it’s a movie lighthearted enough that I could watch again if it was on TV.

However, there may now be clues from this movie that can confirm a few theories for Avengers 4, by way of Ant-Man and the Wasp. The theory we are all pretty confident about with Avengers 4, is that the movie will heavily feature the Quantum Realm, so far explored only in the Ant-Man movies. But with the MCU’s last film being Ant-Man and the Wasp and the first movie to release after the game-changing Avengers: Infinity War, fans have been looking for clues as to what to expect when Avengers 4 comes around in May next year.

One theory which gained traction, was that the glowing orange orbs that suddenly appear next to Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man just at the same time Thanos snap wipes out half the life in the Universe, were the souls of the recently snapped out of existence people. It was a theory which seemed to make a lot of sense to me and we may now have further confirmation of this.

Some eagle-eyed folks over at Screen Rant have released a video on YouTube showing footage from Thor: The Dark World which might well prove the Ant-Man soul theory. In the movie, Thor’s romantic interest (at that time) Jane Foster was being examined by Asgardian Doctors after basically absorbing the ether, aka the Reality Stone. The Doctors put her in a machine they call the Soulforge and as they do the CGI graphics appear to show that ‘soul’ as being a glowing orange orb, which looks mightily similar to those seen at the end of Ant-Man and the Wasp.

Now whilst it’s not a smoking gun, for me it adds more weight to an already pretty solid theory. I guess we shall have to wait for Avengers 4 to find out exactly what all this really means for that movie.

What do you think of the theory and do you think it connects to Thor: The Dark World or merely coincidence? Share your thoughts in the usual place below.
