Those Star Wars Dates Are Still On Disney’s Slate

The future of Star Wars, as we have reported extensively, is quite the big question mark. We still don’t really know the status of Rian Johnson’s trilogy, and Game of Thrones creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have long-since departed their own Star Wars project, and with Disney emphasizing a hiatus for the franchise, one would imagine those December 2022, 2024, and 2026 dates would be gone, right?

Welp, this past Friday, Disney released a slew of release dates, which saw the shifting around of several projects, many new dates, including the seven-month delay of The King’s Man (from February 2020 to September 18, 2020). And yet, those dates still remained.

So, what does this mean for Star Wars? You would think that, with this new slate, that the films would have quietly disappeared, but that isn’t the case. Can we take this as an indication that they are speaking with someone on how best to push forward with the franchise? After all, in order to make those dates, they need to start shooting within the next year or so.

What do you think of Disney not changing these dates? Do you think they have a plan or are they keeping the dates until they settle on a direction? Let us know your thoughts down below!
