Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man rumored to return? Yup! The original movie version of Peter Parker, Maguire reprised the role for Spider-Man: No Way Home. However since seeing that movie Marvel fans are wondering when we may see Maguire, or Andrew Garfield back as Spider-Man? This one may not come as a huge surprise given the expected nature of the movies, however to complete the title above with out the spoiler tag. Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man rumored to return in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness according to the latest DisInsider Podcast. The outlet has definitely got some scoops right in the past and they are saying that Maguire will be back in Multiverse of Madness as Spider-Man.
To be fair, this all makes a whole lot of sense when you think about it. The nature of the next Doctor Strange movie is Multiversal, and it’s a direct follow on from No Way Home. We also have the fact that the original director of Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2 and Spider-Man 3 is also directing Multiverse of Madness, Sam Raimi. As for Garfield the outlet has no news, there have been plenty of other rumors around what Sony wants to do with Garfield, but so far I’ve not heard any insiders saying Garfield is in Multiverse of Madness.

I actually wonder if this is how Sony and Marvel are dealing with their Spider-Man contract? Remember when Tom Holland and Sony came back to the table? It was reported there would be one more solo Spidey movie, which we just saw, and one appearance of Spider-Man in a Marvel team up movie. What if we all just assumed that has to be Tom Holland? It could be the appearance of Maguire, which is only at the permission of Sony, now takes care of that commitment to Marvel Studios?
That’s just speculation on my part. However I’ve definitely seen other fans who pondered the same question after hearing this rumor.
