Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan Season 3 Will Have A New Showrunner

With just one week until its season 2 premiere, the Amazon series Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan has announced their new showrunner for Season 3. Paul Scheuring, the creator of Fox’s Prison Break, will be leading the creative team for the action-thriller series’ third outing. Original co-creator and showrunner Carlton Cuse announced he would stepping away from the series earlier in the year.

Cuse created Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan with fellow Lost creator Graham Roland. Roland will remain on board as co-showrunner, working alongside Scheuring. Aside from Prison Break, Scheuring also produced the Discovery Channel miniseries Klondike alongside filmmaker Ridley Scott. That series was based on the book Gold Diggers: Striking It Rich In The Klondike.

In the second season of Amazon’s hit series, CIA agents Ryan (John Krasinski) and James Greer (Wendell Pierce) venture into the Venezuelan jungle to investigate what may be an illegal arms deal. The investigation will most likely lead to a grand scale terrorist threat. The first season of the series was a hut success for Amazon, as it currently enjoys an 8.2 out of 10 rating on IMDb, while also receiving an 87% from critics and 88% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. While the season 2 premiere is still one week away, some critics who have seen the series are praising the second season. Alex Maidy of JoBlo’s Movie Emporium states that viewers should “stock up on popcorn and buckle in for the most exciting eight-hour movie you have ever seen.” It seems that season 3 will need to prepare itself for the big shoes it has to fill.

Season 2 of Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan premieres Friday, November 1st on Amazon Prime.
