Tom Cruise just never slows down. From Top Gun: Maverick to Mission: Impossible 7, and next Mission: Impossible 8, Cruise is trying to make the most of his action career before he is truly too old. Though I’m sure some would argue he’s too old now. To which I’d argue you haven’t seen Mission: Impossible – Fallout.
Tom Cruise graces the cover of Empire this week, and he addressed a stunt from Mission: Impossible 7. A stunt he told Empire was the most dangerous of his career; riding a motorcycle off a cliff:
If the wind was too strong, it would blow me off the ramp. The helicopter [filming the stunt] was a problem, because I didn’t want to be hammering down that ramp at top speed and get hit by a stone. Or if I departed in a weird way, we didn’t know what was going to happen with the bike. I had about six seconds once I departed the ramp to pull the chute and I don’t want to get tangled in the bike. If I do, that’s not going to end well.

That, surprisingly does sound more dangerous than Tom Cruise’s HALO jump in Fallout. Somehow. Especially when you see the ramp in question. Which Christopher McQuarrie shared on his amazing Instagram.
I simply cannot wait for Mission: Impossible 7 and Mission: Impossible 8. Even with my beloved Marvel, my favorite currently running franchise is Mission: Impossible, without a doubt. I love Tom Cruise and what he is willing to risk for my entertainment.
