Tom Holland Denies Spider-Verse Plot For Spider-Man 3

Holland's contract up as Spider-Man

Tom Holland denies Spider-Verse plot in Spider-Man 3! To be honest, I’m not sure whether all the rumors are wrong, or Tom Holland is lying? I’m going to have to assume the latter for several reasons. If none of the former Spider-Men are appearing, it’s going to tank the career of too many scoopers. Secondly, we have confirmation that Jamie Foxx is Electro, Alfred Molina is Octavius, and Dafoe is Osborn. There has also been some tangible evidence to suggest that both Charlie Cox and Andrew Garfield have been on set already. So what gives?

Holland recently spoke to Esquire whilst promoting new film Cherry. Here is what he said when asked about a possible Spider-Verse (more Spider-Men).

“No, no, they will not be appearing in this film. Unless they have hidden the piece of information from me, which I think is too big of a secret for them to keep from me. It’ll be a continuation of the Spider-Man movies we’ve been making.”

I think it would be difficult for Tom Holland top do anything but deny these rumors at this point. It’s become clear that Sony and Marvel are planning some big reveal for where Spider-Man 3 is going. It’s also possible that some of the cameo’s or appearances they want have not closed yet. For example, we have been told by credible scooper Charles Murphy that although wanted, Tobey Maguire is yet to agree to appear.

We also have to look through some of the official information we have been told. Kevin Feige and many others official sources have talked about a Multiverse plot that begins in WandaVision, goes through Spider-Man 3, and finishes up with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. That’s hardly keeping in line with Holland’s comments that Spider-Man 3 follows on from the previous two Spider-Man movies.

Seriously, I had my own ideas for where Spider-Man 3 may go. I am sure many of not all of you had similar ideas. Did anyone think we’d be seeing Jamie Foxx, Alfred Molina, and Willem Dafoe as villains? Yet, here we are. Normally I would be more willing to side with an actor if they outright deny something. However, I think Marvel has realized that Holland is the worst poker player in history. Perhaps it has become easier for Holland to outright lie and then apologize later on? A more skilled, media savvy person like Kevin Feige would just stay silent, or find a political way to answer the questions without actually answering it.

Unless, as said previously, everyone’s wrong? Spider-Man 3 will be 90% Peter hiding out and being chased by the police. Then Foxx. Molina, and Dafoe appear in the last 5 minutes for cameos. Yeah, does anyone actually believe that at this point? I kinda feel that’s what Holland is trying to sell us here. I expect a few more of these types of answers as Holland promotes his new film Cherry. What do you think of his comments as Tom Holland denies Spider-Verse plot? As always leave any thoughts below if you can.
