When it comes to actors taking on jobs, you never really know whether or not it will be a good fit in the long run or if the actor will go on to regret their decision to take on such a commitment down the line. Actor Chris Evans was famously wishy-washy early on about continuing to play Captain America prior to the release of The Avengers, and in more extreme cases, you have some actors who speak out against their overall experiences.

But then you have some other actors like Robert Downey Jr. who fully embrace the character right outta the gate. This seems to be the case for Tom Holland, who plays Spider-Man within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But how long can we expect him to actually keep playing the character?

In his discussions with Rotten Tomatoes, Holland gives us an idea of how long he’d like to play character.

“I honestly would play Spider-Man until I can’t walk anymore. I love this character so much and it was my childhood dream to play this character. I’m loving it, I”m really enjoying it. I’m really loving what we can do with this movie, and the people we can touch, and the amazing things we can do with the platform this movie has given us, so I’m just really enjoying it.”

Well, I think I speak for a lot of fans when I say that we hope he will continue to play the character for years to come. While it’s always possible that fans can get sick of these movies, something we’ve never seen on the big screen is the character actually grow from a kid to an actual adult. Seeing that come to fruition would be an interesting thing to see, and could be on par with — or greater than — the evolution of character we saw with Cap and Tony in the first three phases of the MCU.
