One of the interesting aspects we have to look forward to in the future of the MCU is team-ups that happen outside of the Avengers or whatever major team up movies they go for next. Already, we have had the likes of Thor: Ragnarok with Hulk tagging along, and we may even get Thor tagging along in the next Guardians of the Galaxy movie as well if we go by the end of Avengers: Endgame. Then we have the likes of Civil War that featured almost everyone, but the central focus was still a Captain America movie.
I have a lot of cool team-up ideas I’d love to see play out and one of them would definitely be a Doctor Strange and Spider-Man movie. The characters have crossed paths a few times in the comics and the animated shows previously, and it’s always worked pretty well for me. You have Spidey who is all about science and dealing with the consequences of being a hero, then you have the mystical sorcerer supreme who is normally saving entire dimensions. Of course, the characters have appeared together fairly briefly in Avengers: Infinity War and the very end of Endgame, but that was part of a huge ensemble.

Turns out I am not the only one who would love to see this team-up as Tom Holland recently told CinemaBlend he would also love to do a team-up movie with Benedict Cumberbatch, check out the quote below.
“I’m really wanting to do a team-up with Doctor Strange, because we’re both New Yorkers and I just really like the idea of a science guy being teamed up with a guy who does magic, because it totally contradicts everything he knows. And I like the idea that there is real science that Peter Parker talks about, and then there’s Doctor Strange gibberish, where he’s like ‘The time rift and the thing and the thing.’ So it’s kind of fun.”
Yep, Holland really has nailed the crux of why this would work, because they are just so completely different as characters, and their world view is miles apart from one another. Could Strange become another mentor figure for Spider-Man going forward? Would it work best to have Spidey appear in a Doctor Strange movie, or Strange appear In a Spider-Man movie? Personally, I prefer the former of these two options, as it would be the most bat-shi* crazy of both choices. Hell, let’s just throw in Hulk as well for something really out there while we are at it.
