In a recent interview showrunner Tony Gilroy says Andor Season 2 is the most important and biggest project he’s ever made. Gilroy received the WGAE’s Ian McLellan Hunter Award for Career Achievement recently. Speaking at the red carpet for the awards Gilroy talked about Andor Season 2. You can watch the video from the WGAE below, or read the transcript below that, your call.

“I’ve been on Andor for five years now. We’re finishing the second half. I’ve had a lot of fun over the years, but I don’t know whether I’ve ever done anything as important as these 24 hours of storytelling we’re doing now. I don’t know if it’s just cause it’s a thing I’m on, but I don’t think so. I’ve never had a chance to work this big before.”

I’ll say this Mr. Gilroy. For me Andor is the best Star Wars media produced since Return of the Jedi in 1983. Some comments below always say Jedi wasn’t that good. But actually it’s an excellent film, outside of the Ewoks. Everything else is top tier, especially the finale between Vader, Luke and Sidious, which may be some of the favourite scenes in all of Star Wars.

So yeah, for me Andor is pretty important and it’s the project I have seen of Gilroy’s which has impressed me more. I was never a huge fan of the Bourne movies, as one small example. However, Andor was amazing, not just the best Star Wars TV show to date but one of the best TV shows of the year it released.

I get it Tony, and I’m glad you are treating it with such importance. I truly believe he will deliver an excellent Season 2. Whereas, I can’t say I’m that confident about any single other Star Wars project these days.

What do you think of his comments as Tony Gilroy says Andor Season 2 is the most important and biggest project he’s ever made? I can’t help but agree with him, but what about you? Thoughts below.
