Tormund Giantsbane Has Coronavirus – Can The Virus Survive Its Greatest Challenge Yet?

Tormund Giantsbane has Coronavirus

Yes, Tormund Giantsbane has Coronavirus! Coronavirus is of course, no laughing matter. Though, I guess I’m one of the people who tries to see the humor in situations, hence the title. Specifically, actor Kristofer Hivju, who played Tormund in Game of Thrones has tested positive for the virus.

Hivju, who played one of the toughest SOB’s on TV for years, announced his positive result on Instagram yesterday. Unfortunately, Kristofer Hivju is merely an actor and not a crazy hard Wildling that sleeps with bears for fun. Hivju currently lives in Norway witrh his family. Hivju doesn’t have any strong symptoms, but he does stress that those less healthy need to be careful.

Check out Hivju’s Instagram post below.

Greetings from Norway! Sorry to say that I, today, have tested positive for COVID19, Corona virus. My familiy and I are self-isolating at home for as long as it takes. We are in good health – I only have mild symptoms of a cold. There are people at higher risk for who this virus might be a devastating diagnosis, so I urge all of you to be extremely careful; wash your hands, keep 1,5 meters distance from others, go in quarantine; just do everything you can to stop the virus from spreading. Together we can fight this virus and avert a crisis at our hospitals. Please take care of each other, keep your distance, and stay healthy! Please visit your country's Center for Disease Control's website, and follow the regulations for staying safe and protecting not just yourselves, but our entire community, and especially those at risk like the elderly and people with pre-existing conditions. @grymolvaerhivju #fightcorona #solidarity #takecare #folkehelseinstituttet Thanks to @panoramaagency

Hivju was filming Season 2 of The Witcher. But, The Witcher production has now shut down like many others due to the virus. Hivju was rumoured for The Witcher for a long time before eventually being confirmed. You can catch up below with who we think Hivju might be playing in The Witcher Season 2.

I saw a meme yesterday, that Chuck Norris had been given Coronavirus. The joke was, that the virus has now been quarantined for 14 days, badum tish. I suppose when I heard of Hivju getting Covid-19, my fan brain went to the virus not being able to survive an encounter with Tormund Giantsbane. Hivju’s announcement falls on the heels of Idris Elba’s statement that he also has Coronavirus.

I would not be too concerned about the famous actors that have tested positive so far. None of the actors who have tested positive appear to be in the danger category, fingers crossed. Both Elba and Hivju are only getting mild symptoms so far thankfully as well. The people most at risk right now are the elderly and those with specific health problems. Hopefully those falling into that category are staying home and isolated for the foreseeable future.

Getting away from Coronavirus, are you happy to see Hivju back in fantasy with The Witcher? Share your thoughts about Hivju or whatever in the usual spot below.
