Toy Story 4 – Producer Jonas Rivera Talks Woody and Bo Peep

It won’t be long now and we’ll have another chapter into the wonerful Toy Story franchise. Toy Story 4 will see a release in just over a month, and while most of us are happy for the gift of another Toy Story adventure, many still wonder why Pixar would risk tainting the series of films that currently exists, arguably one of the more consistent trilogies of all time (as far as film quality)

Most of us know that Pixar is careful of the projects the choose to bring to the screen, and I guess we all have to consider this with the studio bringing back their flagship franchise for another round. Producer on the film, Jonas Rivera, recently spoke with The Hollywood Reporter and spoke about the changes the character Woody has been through over the films, and what the change for this film will be.

“All of these movies are about how Woody changes: From going selfish to selfless in the first one, the second one is him understanding that things don’t last forever. The third one is about letting go. These are big changes. We thought, if we’re going to do this, we need to think about, ‘What is the biggest change?’ What if [his relationship with Bo] was the thing that really changed him?”

It’s rare that I take a trip to the theater for anything besides Star Wars or Marvel films, but I may have to make an exception, as I do truly enjoy Pixar films, and while Toy Story isn’t my favorite of their properties (Incredibles tied with Monsters Inc) it’s the one that started it all and I do have a healthy love for it as well.

Toy Story 4 hits theaters June 21.
