Trailer And Poster Revealed For Amazon Prime Video’s Carnival Row

With Amazon Prime Video debuting Good Omens on Friday, it’s a good time to look at what is coming up on the streaming service. Today, they have released a first look at their upcoming fantasy drama Carnival Row, premiering at the end of August. You can check out the teaser trailer above!

The Legendary Television’s one hour Amazon Original series stars Orlando Bloom, who we all know from the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise and Cara Delevingne, who played Enchantress in David Ayer’s Suicide Squad. The series takes place in a Victorian fantasy world that is home to both humans and immigrant mythological creatures who have been driven out of their homelands thanks to the expansions of the empires of man. This has forced both supernatural creatures and humans to coexist.

Bloom plays a character named Rycroft Philostrate, a human detective who is investigating a string of murders that may threaten the fragile peace in place. At the same time, he rekindles a dangerous affair with a faerie named Vignette Stonemoss, played by Delevingne.

Here is the synopsis for Carnival Row provided by Amazon:

Bloom (Pirates of the Caribbean) and Delevingne (Suicide Squad) star in Carnival Row, a series set in a Victorian fantasy world filled with mythological immigrant creatures whose exotic homelands were invaded by the empires of man. This growing population struggles to coexist with humans — forbidden to live, love, or fly with freedom. But even in darkness, hope lives, as a human detective, Rycroft Philostrate (Bloom), and a refugee faerie named Vignette Stonemoss (Delevingne) rekindle a dangerous affair despite an increasingly intolerant society. Vignette harbors a secret that endangers Philo’s world during his most important case yet: a string of gruesome murders threatening the uneasy peace of the Row.

Joining Bloom and Delevingne on this series will be David Gyasi, Karla Crome, Indira Varma, and Tamzin Merchant. Executive poducers for the series are Marc Guggenheim, Rene Echevarria, Jon Amiel, Bloom, and Travis Beacham. This is based off a project by Beacham called A Killing on Carnival Row, which first appeared on the Hollywood Blacklist back in 2005.
