Trailer For Liam Neeson’s The Commuter Debuts

The trailer for the upcoming film, The Commuter has just hit. The film stars Liam Neeson as Michael Woolrich, a businessman who gets entangled within a criminal conspiracy on his daily commute from work. Vera Farmiga is also in the film playing the part of the villain.

You can check out the official synopsis for The Commuter below:

“In this action-packed thriller, Liam Neeson plays an insurance salesman, Michael, on his daily commute home, which quickly becomes anything but routine. After being contacted by a mysterious stranger, Michael is forced to uncover the identity of a hidden passenger on his train before the last stop. As he works against the clock to solve the puzzle, he realizes a deadly plan is unfolding and is unwittingly caught up in a criminal conspiracy. One that carries life and death stakes, for himself and his fellow passengers.”

The film looks pretty good, and while the first thing that came to my mind was Taken, it was the voice over provided by Neeson that put that thought in my head, but once you get into the trailer, the plot is far different from Taken, and is actually an interesting premise. I have a feeling that Neeson’s character may turn out to be more than the filmmakers are letting on, perhaps a long retired special agent, or something of that nature. Regardless of whatever twists and turns they have in store, it’s a film that looks like will add to the long list of Neeson thrillers.

The film is directed by Jaume Collet-Serra (The Shallows), from a screenplay written by  Byron Willinger and Philip de Blasi.

The Commuter hits theaters January 12, 2018.
