Look out, folks, because we have another Kevin Hart comedy on the way. This newest film is called Night School, and comes from Girls Trip and Barbershop: The Next Cut director Malcolm D. Lee.
The story follow’s Hart’s character, a grill salesman who’s made quite the career for himself on the showroom floor. Of course, he wants more things for himself, but because of his dropping out of high school, there’s kind of a ceiling of how far he can rise in his career. His solution? Take night classes at the local high school so we can get his GED and lock down that bigtime money job.
Based on the trailer above, this looks like it could be another winner for Hart fans. In addition to his track record on the big screen being solid, Lee has been on fire for his past couple movies, and if he brings the same amount of heart and laughs to this film, it’s likely to elevate an already-funny Hart.
Below is the official synopsis for Night School:
Star Kevin Hart and producer Will Packer, who partnered for the hit Ride Along and Think Like a Man series, bring their signature style to Night School. The comedy from director Malcolm D. Lee (Girls Trip) follows a group of misfits who are forced to attend adult classes in the longshot chance they’ll pass the GED exam.
Co-stars Tiffany Haddish, Rob Riggle, Taran Killam and Romany Malco join Hart on-screen for the film that Hart produces for his Hartbeat Productions, and Packer via his Will Packer Productions.
Night School hits theaters on September 28, 2018.
