A couple years back, The Late Show with David Letterman ended, and host David Letterman retreated into retirement. For a while, we didn’t hear much from Letterman, and based on the extensive beard he was later confirmed to have grown, it seemed like he was enjoying his time off pretty well.
However, not long ago, it was confirmed that he was working on a new series from Netflix. Well, we now have our first look at his new series, My Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman. The streaming service has released the first trailer for the six-episode series, and in it, we see Letterman introducing several key guests, including President Barack Obama.
Here is the official synopsis:
“David Letterman is out of retirement and returning to television with a six-episode, 60-minute Netflix series — My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman. The first episode will premiere on Friday, January 12, 2018 with each subsequent episode streaming monthly from February to June. Dave’s lineup of influential guests includes George Clooney, Malala Yousafzai, Jay-Z, Tina Fey, Howard Stern and President Barack Obama.”
So in one week, we will be getting our first episode of this new series, and in a move that’s not generally Netflix in nature, we’ll be getting one episode each month. This looks like it will be done in an effort to make each episode an event.
