It was known this was coming soon and now we have a trailer, plus air dates for the new Amazon series We are Newcastle United. The documentary is not a part of the popular All or Nothing series. That show has focused already on several other English Premier League teams. In a sense, this is more like the series focusing on Newcastle’s derby rivals, in Sunderland Till I Die.
Newcastle United was purchased by majority shareholder The Saudi PIF fund back in October 2021. This was after 14 years of being mismanaged by the former owner. At the time the club changed hands, Newcastle were rock bottom of the Premier League. Relegation looked likely. In fact no club had ever survived from the low points tally Newcastle had at that stage of the season.
The documentary covers Newcastle’s rise back up the table in the 21/22 Season. Eventually finishing 11th of 20. Then, last Season when the club managed to finish 4th and qualify for the UEFA Champions League for the first time in 20 years. New club Manager Eddie Howe was brought in only a few weeks after the club was sold. Howe transformed the club alongside investment by the mega rich new owners. Check out the trailer below.
Here are the dates the show will air on Amazon Prime.

Statement by Newcastle when the documentary was first officially revealed last year.
“As well as offering exclusive access to the club’s decision makers, the documentary will follow the Magpies’ ongoing 2022/23 season from close quarters, with the club reaching its first cup final in 24 years.”
“The series will also delve into Newcastle United’s storied history at the heart of one of the world’s great football cities and will explore the club’s unique bond with its passionate supporters as they follow their team.”
Newcastle United CEO Darren Eales said;
“We are excited to be offering global football fans a front row seat at this exciting time in Newcastle United’s history.”
“The documentary will give football and non-football fans across the globe a unique and authentic insight into how a major Premier League club operates and will take fans on the journey with us as we strive to achieve our goals on and off the pitch.”
It’s rare to see a club go from rock bottom to flying high in such a short space of time. Therefore, this should be a worthy watch to fans of previous Amazon series such as All or Nothing.
