A few years back, I was in a particularly foul mood. Things weren’t going my way, so instead of facing my problems like an adult, I instead walked into an animated kids film, and I was not disappointed by the end result. Was it a Pixar-level-quality film? Nah. But it was a damn good time in the theater. And when I wanted to escape from my problems, the DreamWorks animated film Trolls was there to save the day.

Of course, I wasn’t the only one who enjoyed the film. The movie went on to make $346.8 million worldwide. It was no Coco or anything, but it at least seemed to justify a sequel. Plus, with its 75% on Rotten Tomatoes, it was clear the quality wasn’t half-bad. And now, we’re back with a trailer for the sequel, Trolls World Tour.

Below is the official synopsis for Trolls World Tour:

“In an adventure that will take them well beyond what they’ve known before, Poppy (Kendrick) and Branch (Timberlake) discover that they are but one of six different Troll tribes scattered over six different lands and devoted to six different kinds of music: Funk, Country, Techno, Classical, Pop and Rock. Their world is about to get a lot bigger and a whole lot louder.

“A member of hard-rock royalty, Queen Barb (Rachel Bloom), aided by her father King Thrash (Ozzy Osbourne), wants to destroy all other kinds of music to let rock reign supreme. With the fate of the world at stake, Poppy and Branch, along with their friends — Biggie (James Corden), Chenille (Caroline Hjelt), Satin (Aino Jawo), Cooper (Ron Funches) and Guy Diamond (Kunal Nayyar) — set out to visit all the other lands to unify the Trolls in harmony against Barb, who’s looking to upstage them all.”

Honestly, this trailer doesn’t thrill me, but it does have a couple of funny jokes. If nothing else, it’ll be a Redbox rental for me, and if come April 2020 I’m in a foul mood once again, I can always stumble into the nearest theater and disappear for another two hours.
