A new article details two Indiana Jones shows and one Star Wars show at least that didn’t make it during Kathleen Kennedy’s tenure at Lucasfilm. TheWrap like all bug outlets have been covering the Kennedy exit and discussing what the post-Kennedy Star Wars era will look like. All these outlets have their own little tidbits of information and this was something I hadn’t seen elsewhere.
First off the outlet confirmed an old rumor that a live-action series following Indy’s mentor Abner Ravenwood was in development. To be fair you can understand why this one didn’t make it to go. Was anyone interested in a series about Abner Ravenwood, when we know almost nothing about him?
However, they also revealed details about a show which frankly sounds like an absolute win.
It was an animated series with the working title Reggie. It would have followed Indiana Jones in adventures set in the spaces between the movies. The ‘Reggie’ name coming from the snake which Indy shares a plane with in the cold open of Raiders of the Lost Ark. That’s not to say Indy’s adventures would even feature the snake and his owner Jock. Perhaps one of them did and inspired the working title?

The point is, that this is exactly what Indy fans would love. We can’t go back in time and have a young Indy again, animation, which requires no recast allows this. It’s not even like they’d need Ford to agree to voice the role, there are a few voice actors who already do great Ford impressions. See the Indiana Jones and the Great Circle game for evidence.
Finally, the outlet claims another live-action Star Wars series was in development with Rick Famuyiwa. Famuyiwa of course has been very involved in the MandoVerse and directed episode of The Mandalorian previously. There’s no details on what the show would have been. Yet, I think we can make a couple of good guesses if you follow back all the rumors on the plan for this MandoVerse on Disney+. There’s little point though at this stage.
I get the feeling Ahsoka Season 2, run by new Lucasfilm co-president Dave Filoni will be the last live-action Star Wars TV series. At least, with the level of budget we’ve seen previously and we know Ahsoka Season 2 had it’s budget tightened. If someone can work out a modestly budgeted Star Wars series, you never know.
Animation seems the future of Star Wars TV shows going forward. Sadly, it seems like there’s no desire even for that when it comes to Indiana Jones.
