Man Of Tomorrow Will Introduce DC Character Maxima As A Villain | Barside Buzz

According to some new DCU Barside Buzz, Man of Tomorrow will introduce the DC character Maxima as a secondary villain.

According to some new DCU Barside Buzz, Man of Tomorrow will introduce the DC character Maxima as a secondary villain. The information comes from NPN who claim this is the female role DC Studios are casting for. James Gunn himself confirmed that casting was underway for a female (new)role in the sequel. However, he did so to steer fans away from speculation. That speculation being that Wonder Woman would making her DCU debut in the film.

NPN claims they have some information on this new character being added in Man of Tomorrow.

‘As reported by Nexus Point News, a female supporting character was being cast for Man of Tomorrow with warrior-like qualities and a certain height requirement. Although fans initially suspected this would be the debut of the DC Universe’s Wonder Woman, NPN can confirm that this character will be Maxima.’

‘Maxima is set to debut in Man of Tomorrow as a secondary antagonist and sources tell NPN that similar to the comics, she will eventually join forces with the heroes.’

The most obvious comic story to look for possible inspiration here is one that involved Maxima joining Brainiac in an invasion of Earth. Eventually, Maxima betrays Brainiac to side with the heroes. It does fit with NPN’s claim of secondary villain that eventually joins the good guys. Though, she was, if memory serves, in a Superman comic that was also titled ‘Man of Tomorrow’.

Still, as always, take a pinch of salt with any rumors. My guess is that this one may end up being legit, but don’t take my guesses for gospel. I’ve been wrong before.

Man of Tomorrow will begin filming this year for a 2027 release. I’m sure this one will get confirmed or proved wrong once filming begins. What do you think of the rumor Man of Tomorrow will introduce Maxima in the DCU? Thoughts below.
