We may have our first real information about Mando Season 3. According to a report from insiders at Murphy’s Multiverse there are two new roles being cast for Star Wars. Murphy says that these two characters are being cast to appear in The Mandalorian Season 3. The roles codenamed ‘Drash’, and ‘Skad’ are supposed to be younger street kids.
An earlier report in November from The Illuminerdi had said these roles were going to be for The Book of Boba Fett or one of the other brand new shows. However, Murphy says that he’s received confirmation that these roles are genuine, but actually for The Mandalorian Season 3. The original outlet had also attached two names to those roles, that of Jordan Bolger and Sophie Thatcher. However they never said the actors had signed on, and that Lucasfilm were open to any ethnicities for any other actors they will consider for the roles.
Now, I know the original source here recently dropped in fans estimations for some bad news they had for Guardians 3. However that does not discount all previous scoops and frankly, if Murphy is reporting this several months later, I think it seems legit. Murphy seems to have a good line into casting calls, despite focusing more on Marvel leaks than Star Wars. I guess I’m saying I buy this one, though the actual casting for the roles does not appear to be completed yet.

Mando Season 3 is set to begin filming within the next 3-4 weeks. By that time The Book of Boba Fett should be pretty much done and will be the next Star Wars show to release on Disney+ this December. With Grogu’s story over for now, it makes sense that a new story is going to begin for Dinn Djarin. Perhaps Drash and Skad, or whatever their real names will be, will be central to that new plot? Unfortunately we have no further details here, anything else on Murphy’s report is speculative at this point.
LRM‘s own source has not given us a hint of anything for Mando Season 3, yet. However once things begin to get going? I’m sure many sources for many outlets will start hearing little songs from little birds soon enough.
