My favorite thing about The CW Arrowverse televisions shows is their annual crossover events that put some of our favorite shows together for a greater good. They also a good place to introduce characters to this universe and see how fans react before moving forward with their own series. Last year’s Elseworlds crossover event introduced Batwoman played by Ruby Rose. We know that this year’s crossover will be the Crisis on Infinite Earths and they have some big plans.

According to Deadline the producers of the franchise on The CW are planning to bring in multiple actors to portray Superman in the crossover event in different time frames. The first one should come as no surprise, Tyler Hoechlin who has portrayed the Man of Steel on Supergirl and last years Elseworlds crossover event. The second name may come as a little bit of a surprise as Brandon Routh will once again wear the blue and red. Although he is more recently known for his role as Ray Palmer aka The Atom in Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow, he played Clark Kent in Bryan Singer’s 2006 film Superman Returns. The report states that he would play both characters in the big event.

Both season finales for Arrow and The Flash gave us some hints about the upcoming Crisis on Infinite Earths five episode mega-crossover event that will see Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow and Batwoman. The event shares it’s name with the iconic 12-issue DC Comics series that was published in the 80’s and served as a relaunch point for the publisher.
