In a collaboration between Marvel Comics and Disney, the iconic Uncle $crooge is set to make his debut in the Marvel universe with the release of “UNCLE $CROOGE AND THE INFINITY DIME #1” this June. The announcement was made at the ComicsPRO Comic Industry Conference, revealing a one-shot that brings together the adventures of Uncle $crooge with the storytelling prowess of Marvel Comics.
Marvel writer Jason Aaron, known for his work on X-Men and Avengers, will be at the helm of this historic project. Collaborating with a team of celebrated Scrooge artists, Aaron aims to blend the beloved world of Uncle $crooge with the signature Marvel Comics narrative style. Uncle $crooge, a character who has held a treasured spot in comic book history since his debut almost 80 years ago, is now poised to headline Marvel Comics’ first venture into the realm of Disney’s comic books.
The oversized special, “UNCLE $CROOGE AND THE INFINITY DIME #1,” will feature an epic Marvel adventure and revisit Scrooge’s groundbreaking first appearance in Carl Barks’ legendary Christmas on Bear Mountain comic. The narrative takes Uncle $crooge on a time-honored Marvel journey as he explores the multiverse to thwart an alternate, twisted version of himself from becoming the all-powerful and incomprehensibly rich Scrooge-Above-All.

The story promises exciting new takes on the iconic tycoon with a heart of gold. It includes appearances by familiar characters such as Donald Duck, Huey, Duey, Louie, and Gyro Gearloose. When Uncle $crooge’s famed money bin is stolen by a surprising culprit, he must embark on a quest unlike any other, joined by an unexpected array of allies – other versions of himself.
Marvel writer Jason Aaron expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating, “Uncle $crooge’s rich, action-packed history includes some of the most exciting adventure comics ever created, by legendary creators like Carl Barks and Don Rosa. It’s one of the most mind-staggering thrills of my career to get to craft this epic cosmic adventure for the World’s Richest Duck.”
Editor Mark Paniccia emphasized the historic nature of the collaboration, describing it as a “truly historic collaboration of two mighty entertainment giants.” He praised Aaron’s script for being full of heart, humor, action, and unexpected twists. The art team is dedicated to delivering classic Disney magic, and cover artists like Alex Ross and Lorenzo Pastrovicchio have displayed incredible enthusiasm.
