UPDATE: The trailer has now been released and pretty much confirms the story below, and my thoughts that the image was fake are 100% wrong. Rest of the original story below.
I had a nightmare last night, I don’t write stories at the weekend, and for some reason last night I woke up having had a dream where Venom and Morbius and all of Sony’s other ideas were officially part of the MCU. It was a disaster and no matter what they did, Kevin Feige was helpless to stop them. Scary stuff!
That being said, we did get a promising supposedly-leaked image of Morbius that hit.
The movie might be great or trash… but at the very least @SonyPictures seems to have nailed a great look for #Morbius pic.twitter.com/fxmoCDVqox

Today, I awoke to this story and the nightmare has potentially become a reality. That’s right folks, FamdomWire across the weekend have begun a rumor that Venom 2 and Morbius will be officially a part of the MCU and have potential references to Spider-Man. It is even thought Tom Holland could make a cameo appearance in Venom 2. As far as Morbius is concerned, we have a rumor that J. Jonah Jameson could be in the movie and be the same one we just saw in the MCU, and that there will be references to Spider-Man being wanted after the events of Spider-Man: Far From Home.
I have even seen what I guess is a doctored and fake image of Jared Leto standing next to a wanted poster showing Spider-Man. You can take a look at that online.
That suit looks familiar… #Morbius pic.twitter.com/SWzIfVbDTl

However, not only does the suit looks completely unlike the MCU version, it also seems to use a very old image of Leto in the movie as its source. So for me, it reeks of fakery, but I am no imaging expert.
The question is, in order for Marvel to get Spider-Man back for one more solo movie and one more team-up movie, have they agreed to allow Sony to piggyback onto the MCU and claim their own stories are a part of that wider universe? I guess we shall find out soon enough when Morbius starts to get promoted. The thing is, I would welcome this movie, if Marvel Studios were the ones in charge of Sony’s stories, because I have very little faith in anyone at Sony, and that’s simply going by their movie I have seen over the last few years.

Will Morbius be marketed as an MCU film, will there be mention of Spider-Man in the trailers to connect it with audiences? That remains to be seen, and for now this should be taken with a grain of salt like all rumors until we hear more either way. On that front tell us what you think of this rumor, should it be true, is this something you welcome, or like me does it give you nightmares?
