Today is the premiere of season 2 of the sci-fi comedy series Upload on Prime Video. This series comes from the mind of Greg Daniels. He is the Emmy Award-winning writer who has worked on such classic series as The Office and Parks and Recreation. This series is set in a technologically advanced future where things like hologram phones, 3D food printers, and automated grocery stores are everyday items. But one of its most advanced features is its virtual afterlife feature. In this future, people can choose to be “uploaded” and continue to live in a system.
In season one of Upload, Daniels and the team introduced us to this future and some of the people that reside in it. Like Nathan, Nora, Luke, and Ingrid. Part of getting to know this world is learning about the technology that exists here. Some of it we have seen time and time again in other sci-fi series and others are unique to this one. Regardless, it’s fun to see how the technology that was made for television, sometimes makes its way to the real world.

To talk more about this we turned to the creator of Upload, Greg Daniels. LRM Online‘s Emmanuel Gomez had the opportunity to talk with him ahead of the premiere of the second season. He share with us what we can expect from the second season now that the world has been set up. Also, the fun way that they pick and choose what kind of technology they are going to feature in the series. Overall it’s a great conversation that you can check out down below!
Here is the synopsis for season 2 of Prime Video’s Upload
In Upload Season Two, Nathan is at a crossroads in his (after) life… his ex-girlfriend Ingrid has unexpectedly arrived to Lakeview. Hoping to strengthen their relationship. But his heart still secretly yearns for his customer service angel Nora. Meanwhile Nora is off the grid and involved with the anti-tech rebel group “The Ludds.” Season Two is packed with new near-future concepts, including Lakeview’s newest in-app digital baby program called, “prototykes,” and other satirical glimpses of the technological advances and headaches to come.
Season one and two of Upload can be streamed now exclusively on Prime Video.
