Valentina Herrera And Veronica Rodriguez Talk Ducks In The Slumber Party | Exclusive

This interview was conducted prior to the SAG-AFTRA declaring an official strike.

The filmmaker Veronica Rodriguez brings us an out of this world teen experience with The Slumber Party. Among this party cast is Valentina Herrera as “Anna Maria”, the birthday girl throwing the unforgettable  sleepover bash!

THe Synopsis

The Slumber Party” depicts the hilarious aftermath of a sleepover birthday party hypnotism gone wrong as best friends Megan (Darby Camp, “Clifford the Big Red Dog”) and Paige (Emmy Liu-Wang, “Raven’s Home”), along with soon-to-be step-sister Veronica (Alex Cooper Cohen), wake up with absolutely no memory of the night before. Now they must retrace their steps to find missing birthday girl Anna Maria (Valentina Herrera, “Black Widow”)…and explain why there’s a flock of baby ducks in the bathtub, what happened to Megan’s left eyebrow, and why she’s wearing unattainable hottie Jake Ramirez’s (Ramon Jose Rodriguez, “Class of 1970”) signature black hoodie.

THE SLUMBER PARTY – Disney’s “The Slumber Party” stars Valentina Herrera as Anna Maria, Emmy Liu-Wang as Paige, Darby Camp as Megan, and Alex Cooper Cohen as Veronica, (Disney/Art Strieber)

Her first project was Odd Squad: Mobile Unit, then came Black Window, All the World Is Sleeping and Odd Squad. Basic Witches is her next project.

I was connected with Veronica Rodriguez and Valentina Herrera during The Slumber Party press day.  They both enjoyed talking about the popular, “what the duck?” line and how it became part of the set’s vocabulary. Rodriguez shared her hope for Disney to let it stay while filming and her experience working with real ducks. Rodriguez and Herrera discussed how slumber parties may have changed or not and much more!
