A few days ago Valiant Entertainment announced their next title in their Valiant Beyond initiative Incursion by Andy Diggle and Alex Paknadel. Now they are proud to announce their next limited title for 2019 titled The Forgotten Queen #1 which will be written by Tini Howard, who worked on Captain America Annual #1 and Assassinistas, with artwork by Amilcar Pinna who previously worked on Generation X. The book is scheduled to hit comic book stores next February.

The book will follow a former villain of Valiant’s super team Unity named War-Monger who first appeared in Valiant Comics in Unity #18. The Forgotten Queen will take place in both the past and present day as it will explore War-Monger’s initial rise to power as well as her current status in the Valiant Universe.

Here is a brief description from Valiant Entertainment about War-Monger’s past:
Long ago, the mighty generals of the Mongol Empire rode from Siberia to Carpathia and conquered all who stood in their way. Legends tell of a witch who walked with them, who could infect the hearts of any warriors in her midst with an unquenchable thirst for battle and bloodshed…a War Monger. And now she is walking again.

Speaking about the creative team on the book and the significance of the character to CBR, executive editor Joseph Illidge said that, “Tini and Amilcar are crafting a sensational story to bring one of Valiant’s most powerful and secretly influential characters into the spotlight; she will play a significant role in Valiant storylines to come. THE FORGOTTEN QUEEN is just the tip of the iceberg of what Valiant has planned for 2019, during which we will be celebrating the 30th anniversary of when Valiant Comics was founded in 1989. More announcements are forthcoming, so check back as we dive deeper into the Valiant Universe!”
