Venom Breaks $500 Million At The Worldwide Box Office

This past weekend saw the release of Hunter Killer in many theaters.

No. 1 at the box office is Halloween, taking in $32.0 million in its second week, dropping a substantial 58%. Very interestingly, this drop is very much a drop you can expect from big blockbuster, and while Halloween may have had a blockbuster-like performance, it only had a budget of $10 million. Needless to say, the slasher flick is doing very well for itself, and a sequel to this bad boy seems inevitable.

In second place is A Star is Born with $14.1 million, dropping only 25.8% from its third weekend. The fact that it’s still making this much money this late in the game is pretty damn impressive. There’s nothing else like it in theaters, and those who see it only seem to be praising it.

In third place is Venom, which made $10.8 million in its fourth weekend. More impressively, it’s broken $500 million at the worldwide box office, and is currently sitting pretty at $508.4 million. So yeah, in case you were still unsure whether or not this was a positive thing for Sony, this can put it to bed. Venom is a bona fide success.
