Venom Director Tries To Explain Away Giant Plot Hole

SPOILERS AHEAD! You’ve been warned!

Wait? You’re telling me there are plot holes in Venom? Bullshirt! (Yes, we’re all in The Good Place…)

In all seriousness, there are a ton of plot holes in Venom. Whether you enjoyed it or not, it is a mess of a film, chopped to bits by Sony, likely. So which particular plot hole did director Ruben Fleisher discuss with Gamespot?

Well, the timeline with Eddie Brock getting his suit and Riot’s journey across the planet just down sync up. We see Riot take over an old lady, then, after a six-month jump, Riot is still in the same body, slowly making his way to the Life Foundation in San Francisco. Yet, aren’t the symbiotes going through bodies faster than that in San Francisco? Even the ones who achieve full symbiosis, which is a rarity?

Gamsepot brought this up with Fleisher:

“Yeah, that’s a good question. That’s one of our few–hopefully–few logic bumps. But we had to have a passage of time in order to show Eddie’s downfall, and that was the one thing that doesn’t entirely track.”

“But I like to think that old lady was going around murdering all throughout Malaysia, and she was just having a good old time just shooting shards through different people in Malaysia.”

Well, there you go. One of the few plot holes addressed… sort of…
