The ScreenJunkies are back, and this time their target is Venom. If you are unaware of what the ScreenJunkies do, they tear apart popular movies and television shows in the most fun and playful ways. Venom garnered itself a RottenTomatoes score as lopsided as The Last Jedi, as far as the critics and audience scores.

With Venom being heavily divisive among fans, all things considered, I will say that the ScreenJunkies went pretty easy on the film. What stuck out to me most was the Rialto theater bit, I didn’t notice it while watching the film, but it seems like someone on the crew should have caught this. In opposition to most of the rest of LRM, I enjoyed the film (Fox and Joseph also enjoyed it). A lot of fans were turned away by Spider-Man not being a part of Venom’s origin, but me not being a comic book reader, I didn’t have as strong as an association with the source material, although I understand where they’re coming from. Fans tend to hold on to origin stories and want the character to stay true to them.
