Kingpin himself, Vincent D’Onofrio teases fans with potential Devils Reign story connections in Daredevil: Born Again. D’Onofrio was answering questions from fans in a panel at Dragon Con. As per Thepopverse, D’Onofrio was asked if he’d be interesting in playing Fisk in an adaptation of the famous ‘Devil’s Reign’ comic book?
‘While D’Onofrio’s answer didn’t confirm plans for this storyline, his non-answer gave some big hints that were hard to ignore.’
‘“That’s a very interesting question,” D’Onofrio cautiously said. “I cannot answer that because we have a new season coming out of Daredevil.”’
‘The audience made some audible gasps, clearly picking up on the hint. In case there was any doubt, D’Onofrio added another clue. “I’m sure you get it. Otherwise, I would just flap my lips for the next thirty minutes and it would be so much fun, but that’s not happening.”’

So what happens in Devils Reign? Well, Kingpin becomes mayor and uses the power of his office to launch war on the street-level heroes. Now, if regular readers are following this you’ll know that sounds a lot like the rumored plot of Spider-Man 4. Or, shall we say the old plot we heard before the more recent rumors it had all changed. Is it therefore possible that Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 may actually adapt this comic? From what we’ve heard and what we know from Echo, Fisk is trying to become the mayor in Born Again Season 1.
That could mean Born Again Season 2 features a few more street level heroes for this plot to effect? It’s certainly interesting and even if it’s not directly the plot of Season 1, it seems like the set up is there.
