Vivica A. Fox Fantasy Casts Zendaya As Her Daughter in ‘Kill Bill Vol. 3’

Marvel Did Explore MJ Being A Superhero At One Point Says Tom Holland and Zendaya

‘Black Mamba.’ I Shoulda been muthaf*ckin’ ‘Black Mamba.’

Of the many projects that Quentin Tarantino is working on at any given time, Kill Bill vol. 3 always seems to be in the mix.  He confirmed as much in December last year when speaking with Radio Andy. He reignited hope among fans of the series when he told the talk show host that he’d had dinner with Uma Thurman the previous evening and he had an idea for the follow-up. It was still 3 years off, but definitely “in the cards.”

Tarantino’s oft rumored plan for a sequel to the whole bloody affair was to follow the daughter of Vernita Green, portrayed by Ambrosia Kelley in the original Kill Bill, as she attempted to take bloody revenge on The Bride for the death of her mother. Tarantino had always said that he wanted to film years after the character would have had time to grow up. Fox, who played the elder Green in the original film, revealed to NME that if Kelley didn’t want the role, she’d like it to go to Zendaya.

“I haven’t got any official word… I had a feeling that hopefully [Tarantino] was waiting on [the actress who plays] my daughter to grow up a little bit…But then I was doing an interview and they asked ‘What young actress would you get to play your daughter?’ and I was like ‘No, Ambrosia!’ but they meant an established actress.”

When prompted for an established actress, Fox went on to tell the outlet that she’d want to see Zendaya in the role. “…How hot would that be? And that would probably green light this project. Because her and Uma are both very tall, and it would just be kick-butt and I love her.”

Don’t Get Your Hopes Up

This isn’t the first time Fox has weighed in on potential casting choices for the next film in the saga. A few years ago, Rhonda Rousey pitched herself as the daughter of Beatrix Kiddo (Thurman) in a sequel, if it were to ever get made. Fox thought it was a wonderful idea and the possibility of a film about the daughters of Black Mamba and Copperhead going at it would be a real treat.

Concerning the casting of Zendaya, Fox is probably right on the money about the film being green light, if the actress were to sign on. If you’ve been paying even the slightest attention to the entertainment industry, in addition to playing MJ in Disney’s Spider-Man series, Zendaya has been on HBO’s acclaimed Euphoria and will soon be seen, COVID-19 willing, in Denis Villeneuve’s star studded Dune later this year. Between those projects, it’s clear she has the acting chops. It would be fun to see how she handles the action.

So, watch this space in 2024. We’ll see if Tarantino makes good on his word and delivers us some fresh news about the status of the elusive Kill Bill vol. 3 and hopefully, the casting of Zendaya. For my part, I’d be just as happy if I finally got a home release of the combined version of Kill Bill vols. 1 & 2, which Tarantino has screened as recently as 2017 in Los Angeles.
