Voldemort: Origins of the Heir – The Harry Potter Fan Film Hits The Internet!

Fans have an uncanny ability to take small aspects of an existing story and really fill in the gaps with some in-depth head-canon. While the book Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince sort of delved into the origins of franchise baddie Tom Riddle (aka Voldemort), fans apparently had their fill of the Dark Lord.

Several months back, Tryangle Films released a trailer for a then-upcoming fan film that chronicled Voldemort’s early days, and now, they’ve taken to YouTube to share the finished product: Voldemort: Origins of the Heir. You can take a look at it above.

Here is a description of the film:

Voldemort: Origins of the Heir is a non-profit fan film, inspired by the Harry Potter universe. The idea was born while re-reading the sixth book of the saga, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. We wondered:

What made Tom Riddle become Voldemort? What happened in those years, and what really went down at Hogwarts when he came back? There are some clues in the books which have not been transposed at all in the movies, but a lot goes unspoken. This is the story we want to tell: the rise of the Dark Lord before Harry Potter and his first demise.”
