Director Matt Shakman has detailed a WandaVision deleted scene which would have seen Senor Scratchy turn into a demon. Shakman appeared on this week’s Fatman Beyond Podcast with Kevin Smith. The director outlined a scene which sadly ended up on the cutting room floor.
The scene would have seen Monica, Darcy, and Ralph attempt to steal the Darkhold from Agatha’s basement. The kids having noticed it when there earlier lead the team to the mysterious book. As they go to grab it, Senor Scratchy jumps up in front of it, then transforms into a demon and chases the team back out.

What has been interesting about this information is the fan reaction. The most common response I’ve seen is lamenting the fact this scene was cut. There were fan theories about Senor Scratchy, so to see the Rabbit become some demon would have been a cool surprise. However, I think the most important aspect of this in fans eyes is that it allows Darcy, Monic and Ralph to do more in the finale. The scene was shot, but the VFX were never completed. Many fans have jumped to the assumption this cut was due to COVID-19, however Shakman does not actually say that here.
I enjoyed WandaVision but to be fair, the finale was nowhere near the best episode in the season. Would this one WandaVision deleted scene have improved that finale? Perhaps, perhaps not, however I am less disappointed with the end of WandaVision as some fans were. I still think a lot of the teasing from WandaVision could bear fruit in other MCU content to come.

I’m also going to make a bold guess as to why all those reports of Doctor Strange in the finale were off. I’m starting to wonder if Multiverse of Madness has a scene where Strange and Wanda need to go back to Westview to speak with Agatha? That would explain why so many trusted scoopers though Cumberbatch had filmed scenes for WandaVision. For me, this would also satisfy the itch I have that Agatha’s knowledge will be needed in that movie.
It’s just a guess, though I think a logical one, until evidence rules the theory out. The scoopers who got Strange wrong have held up their hands, and I respect that. Fans want 100% accuracy from scoopers and they will never find it. If the likes of Charles Murphy was told by his sources that Cumberbatch filmed scenes for WandaVision, I wonder? I guess we will find out whether I was right when we watch Multiverse of Madness?
What do you think of the description of this WandaVision deleted scene? Would you have liked to see Senor Scratchy become a demon? What do you think of my Multiverse of Madness theory? As always leave any thoughts below.
