WandaVision Explores Wanda’s Ill-Defined Powers Says Kevin Feige

According to Marvel Boss Kevin Feige WandaVision explores Wanda’s ill-defined powers. WandaVision is coming on January 15th to Disney+ and ahead of this release Empire are covering the show. In chat with Feige he explains that there is still much to learn about Wanda and her powers.

“If you look at the Infinity Saga, I don’t think any single person has gone through more pain and trauma than Wanda Maximoff. And no character seems to be as powerful as Wanda Maximoff. And no character has a power-set that is as ill-defined and unexplored as Wanda Maximoff. So it seemed exploring that would be worthwhile post-Endgame. Who else is aware of that power? Where did it come from? Did the Mind Stone unlock it?”

The subject of where Wanda’s powers came from is one fans have debated for a while. Did Wanda get her powers from the Mind Stone, or were those powers inherent and merely unlocked by the Mind Stone? With Wanda’s connection to Mutants, and the fact that story can now be explored, I’m betting the latter. Could WandaVision be the point where Wanda somehow unlocks the Mutant gene in others as well? That’s something that’s also been speculated by fans. It would be a kind of a reverse from her comic ‘House of M’ moment where she erases all Mutant’s using her powers.

As for ‘ill-defined’, I think it’s clear that Avengers: Endgame was another step towards Wanda realizing her true potential. After all, if Thanos hadn’t rained fire down on his own troops, Wanda was ready to strip him apart piece by piece. However, just a step, and Feige has said before that he see’s Wanda as the most powerful hero we have seen in the MCU to this point. It’s going to be a fun ride, that’s for sure.
