WandaVision: Paul Bettany Talks The ‘Bonkers’ Way The First Episode Of Was Shot

Marvel’s upcoming Disney Plus series, Wandavision, is shaping up to be something truly special. One aspect of the show will harken back to the early days of television sitcoms. According to co-star Paul Bettany who plays Vision, some of the show was even filmed was similar to the way classic sitcoms were shot.

Bettany recently appeared on Sirius XM‘s The Jess Cagle Show and talked about the production of WandaVision‘s first episode. You can check out what he had to say below.

“We shot the first episode in two days in front of a live studio audience. And we shot it exactly as you would have shot one of those shows in the ’50s. Like, you know, The Dick Van Dyke Show or, you know, I Love Lucy. It was such a thrill and it was so bonkers and fun.”

Bettany continued indicating the drastic change the show will go through.

“As the show progresses and we go through the year we end up in a full on action MCU world with all of the same production values. And I can’t wait to see it.”

Along with the retro style of filming, the concept of the series is itself, bonkers. But bonkers in a clever and fun way. The series will definitely bring a new side to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. A side that has me, along with many other fans intrigued to say the least. As others have speculated Wanda and Vision are likely in some sort of fabricated reality, and if that’s the case the question is, who is behind it and why?

We won’t have to wait too much longer for the show as it’s set to debut on Disney Plus in January.
