We have known for some time that Wanda Maximoff aka Scarlet Witch would be making an appearance in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. We also had several hints that the events of the upcoming WandaVision Disney+ show would tie directly into that movie. However, we now have a rumor that says Doctor Strange could be returning the favor and making a cameo appearance in WandaVision.
Scooper Charles Murphy revealed the rumor on his website for Patreon subscribers at the weekend. Whilst no solid details have been provided the rumor is that Benedict Cumberbatch will make at least a cameo appearance in WandaVision. This could well be as simple as an after credit sequence featuring the sorcerer supreme, or he could be even more involved in the tail end of the show than that.
This makes a lot of sense and Murphy has a solid hit rate of scoops for the MCU. If WandaVision is the catalyst that drives the plot of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, it would make sense that Strange would become involved earlier. We know that the new MCU plan is to have content on Disney+ which will be essential to following the overall story playing out in movie theaters and this definitely falls in line with that.

Kevin Feige, Marvel president previously told Variety about how these shows will intersect with the movies.
“These episodes will intersect with the movies in a very big way, It’s a totally new form of storytelling that we get to play with and explore. It’s the first long-form narrative that Marvel Studios has done — they’ll be six episodes, eight episodes, 10 episodes with the actors from the films playing their characters. They’ll be changing, evolving, growing in those event series and then those changes will be reflected in their next film appearances.”
So if you want to keep up to speed on what all our favorite MCU characters are up to, we are going to have to watch the Disney+ content, and to be fair, as a fan, this is exactly what I wanted anyway.
