Want To Be A Hero? Donate A Kidney And Save The World… For Toby Jones (Not THAT Toby Jones) | Charity Post

James Tobion (Toby) Jones Playing Bass 3

Donate a kidney, save the world… of local indie music lovers! James Tobin Jones of My Day At The Races, Cul-de-sac Saints, The Mervs, Toby Jones and the Jones Tones, and Short Shorts NEEDS A KIDNEY! The multi-talented bassist/guitarist has been a staple of some of the biggest local hits in Clarksvegas (and other places) history! Oh, Clarksvegas is Clarksville, TN. That’s where I met Toby way back around 2000-2001, and it’s where out unlikely bromance began. I may be biased here, but let’s examine why the dude not only NEEDS a kidney, but DESERVES a kidney.

The Music

Want To Be A Hero? Donate A Kidney And Save The World... For Toby Jones (Not THAT Toby Jones) | Charity Post

This dude is gifted with the musical talent of a musical deity in a universe of the best music in all of the multiverse. If he went mainstream, it’d break the world. So for our safety, he plays things down, supports local acts, and focuses on being a really cool dude.

His band, My Day At The Races, allows LRM and The GenreVerse to use some music in the background of shows like The Cantina and you can find more here. Also, there’s a really cool Mervs video here.

The Problem

Despite his god-like musical ability (and that is not an exaggeration) he is a mere mortal. His body is failing him from a long battle with health issues, including Type I Diabetes, and he now NEEDS a kidney due to Stage 5 Kidney Failure. So, LRM Online and The GenreVerse want to help him find a donor. We can’t let an unknown national treasure like this die from something so simple, right?

The Hard Stuff

Believe it or not I am writing this serious part first. I went (will go) back to add in the humor later. Toby is person who has had an effect on countless through his music, and his enviable personality makes him a dear friend to those lucky enough to meet him. Talking with Toby for the first time, is like talking to someone you’ve known all your life. He genuinely tries to be kind to people, and that’s a trait we need more of on earth. Thankfully, he managed to reproduce twice giving the world two more kind hearts to help fix this rock. There, a bit of humor here too.

Toby isn’t some perfect man, I’ve seen him jaywalk a time or two, but he is a good person. Toby is a dedicated father to a young man and young lady who already seem poised to surpass their father in creativity and ability in the arts. The dude is a dedicated husband, with an even more dedicated wife. They give me and Christine (my wife) a run for our money in facing tough $#!% as a couple. They’re always coming out on top and better than before. I think him needing an organ is pretty close to me facing death in Iraq, but you can battle that out in the comments.

Information On How To Donate A Kidney

If you have ever considered giving a spare body part, please consider James Tobin Jones for your kidney. There are multiple ways you can help, including a path even if you are not a direct match. Your choice to contact Toby could actually help two people. The methods of donation are best explained by the professionals, and you can find that here and here.

If you’re interested in helping Toby and his family, please contact him via Facebook. If you do not use Facebook please e-mail me at kylem @lrmonline.com (without the space, there’s an issue in our back end censoring the e-mail) and I will help put you in contact with him. This information may be updated in the future as the Jones family ramps up the search.

Thank you all for your time and your consideration to donate a kidney.
