Warner Bros. In Early Discussions To Bring Harley Quinn Back For Another DC Project | LRM’s Barside Buzz

No doubt about it, Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn is a winner. A lot of people didn’t like Suicide Squad but enjoyed her take on Harley Quinn. A lot of people didn’t see Birds of Prey, but those who did enjoyed her Harley Quinn. The big trick will be getting her in a movie that is both critically praised and a box office hit. That being said, I feel the constant need to restate that Birds of Prey, while a disappointment, was not a flop. But that’s neither here nor there.

In spite of whether or not Harley Quinn is big enough for her own movies going forward, I don’t think anyone is arguing that she shouldn’t return. We already know she is coming back for James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad, but what about beyond that? Can we expect Harley Quinn to be a DCEU mainstay?

That’s still the big question, but if we’re to believe a new rumor, it sounds like they may already be planning her return. DCEU Mythic has checked in with multiple sources, and according to them, Warners has started early discussion about what projects Harley Quinn will be appearing in next. There is currently no word on what the project will be. As such, we don’t really know if her next project will be one that puts her front-and-center or if she will be part of another ensemble cast.

I actually hadn’t heard this before, but apparently a couple of years back, there were rumors that Warners was hoping to feature Harley Quinn every year in some way. This year was Birds of Prey, next year will be The Suicide Squad. With that in mind, 2022 could be a possibility. But there are already three films slated for that year. We have Shazam 2, The Flash, and Aquaman 2. Admittedly, I don’t see her appearing in any of those, so my gut tells me that “every year” part was just a pipe dream.

As with all rumors, take this with a grain of salt, but Jeremy Conrad is generally reliable. But with things being so early, it’s always possible things will change.

Either way, this is good news. Robbie has done a fantastic job presenting Harley Quinn on the big screen, and I’m on board with her returning in any capacity. What about you? What project do you hope to see her in in the future? Let us know your thoughts down below!
