The casting of Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Thomas Wayne in Batman v Superman was definitely a brilliant move on the part of director Zack Snyder. While it’s not clear whether or not Snyder ever had it in the back of his mind that he could reprise his role in a Flashpoint film down the line, it’s certainly a benefit that the DC Extended Universe cannot overlook.
Now, it’s over a year later, and we know that DC Films is hard at work at making a Flashpoint movie. In the comic series, Flash is in an alternate reality where Batman is none other than Thomas Wayne, instead of Bruce Wayne. So does this mean? Will Jeffrey Dean Morgan be donning the cowl in that film?
Jimmy Kimmel posited the question to Morgan, and while the actor didn’t say much, his reaction to the question is pretty golden. He first confirmed that Thomas Wayne is indeed the Batman in this paradox universe in the comic, but was close-lipped as to what it can mean in the movie universe.
“Let’s go back to that,” he quickly said, pointing to a photo from a previous topic. “I didn’t say s**t. I don’t know anything. Really I don’t know anything. DC has a lot of things going on.”
Indeed, DC seems to have a new film announced every other day these days, and in the grand scheme of things, actors are the last ones to know anything.
