Disclaimer: This post and video will straight-up spoil the ending for Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

It’s hard not to love the age of nostalgia we live in. Not only are we living in an age where Star Wars is back and stronger than ever, but we live in a culture that thrives on the whole idea of nostalgia. Shows like Stranger Things prove audience’s hunger to revisit decades gone by, and YouTube is a treasure trove of talent that helps drive it all home.

This latest video from the YouTube channel Mr Sunday Movies takes the recently-released Star Wars: The Last Jedi and mixes it with good ol’ 16-bit video games. If you’re like me, then you likely remember the Super Star Wars franchise back on the Super Nintendo, and this video conjures up a lot of familiar feels from those video games.

In the video, it literally walks through the big confrontation between Kylo Ren and Luke Skywalker at the end of the film, beat for beat. I have to say, as someone who played way too many video games in that era, it really captures the essence of how 16-bit games told stories.

What do you think of this video? Does it perfectly capture both The Last Jedi and the 16-bit games of olden times? Sound off down below!
