Emergency Ezra Miller Meeting Debunked By Another Source [UPDATE]

Ezra Miller out after The Flash, no matter what happens? That's the latest Barside Buzz doing the rounds today. Read on for more information.

This is a re-post with updated information. After the initial report from Rolling Stone (see below) on Ezra Miller, the story was also covered by IGN, like we did. However IGN sources then reached out to the outlet to inform them this was not the case.

A source with the studio has rebuked the original report from Rolling Stone, telling IGN that no such emergency meeting took place and dismissing the claims as exaggeration.

Now, both outlets have good sources. Therefore whom do we believe here? To be fair to Rolling Stone, they were not the only source for the fact there was a meeting at WB. They were simply the first offer any conclusions of that meeting.

On that basis I find it hard to believe there really was no meeting. After all, when you read about the situation, WB absolutely should have been having a meeting to discuss this. One therefore wonders if the idea is simply to downplay and quieten the intrigue for now, with IGN being used as a way to initiate that remotely? That’s a pure guess on my part, you readers decide for yourself.

Original Story Below

According to Rolling Stone, WB had an emergency Ezra Miller meeting after the star’s most recent arrest. Miller, who was in Hawaii, was arrested by authorities in what was allegedly just the most recent example of their worrying behavior. Here is what the outlet published about the meeting.

On March 30, Warner Bros. and DC executives held an emergency impromptu meeting to discuss Ezra Miller’s future with the studio following The Flash star’s recent arrest for disorderly conduct and harassment. According to a knowledgeable source, the consensus in the room was to hit pause on any future projects involving Miller including possible appearances in the DC Extended Universe.

To be fair, hitting pause is one of the less extreme actions WB could have taken here. This isn’t the first time we’eve heard about this meeting. However the outlet are the first I’ve come across which gives any information on the conclusions drawn from it.

Miller is one of WB’s biggest stars and appears in the latest Fantastic Beasts movie released this week, The Secrets of Dumbeldore. How much Miller’s character factors into what comes next for that franchise I cannot say as I don’t see the film till next week. However far more concerning for WB, and the fans is how central Miller seems to the future of the DCEU. The Flash which stars Miller is due out next Summer. It seems The Flash is supposed to be a semi-reboot of the DCEU going forward. One assumes that also means keeping Miller’s Flash as a main player in that future?

The outlet also added more information. They have also heard about some problematic behavior from Miller on set of The Flash.

One insider says Miller had “frequent meltdowns” during production last year on The Flash. While the insider stresses there was no yelling or violent outbursts, they described Miller as “losing it.” “Ezra would get a thought in [their] head and say, ‘I don’t know what I’m doing,’” the insider tells Rolling Stone.

Interesting, but also just on a human level, worrisome for the young actor. You have to guess for whatever reason they are having a tough time. We hope they can get some help.

What do you think of the news WB had an emergency Ezra Miller meeting after the star’s most recent arrest and have decide to pause any future projects for now? Leave your thoughts on this situation below.
