Whilst still never officially announced, Werewolf by Night director Michael Giacchino is having fun making the Halloween Special. Giacchino, who is absolutely most famous for his film scores is stepping behind the director’s chair for the Werewolf by Night Halloween Special, due this October. In a recent interview with Phase Zero, Giacchino could not say much about the show, but did say he’s having a lot of fun making it. Transcript below, for those that don’t want to watch the video.
“I’ve been having a blast. It’s an incredibly challenging process. I love it, every day I’ve been having fun working on it. We’re in the middle of it, and hopefully very soon we’ll share a lot more about it. There’s not much I can say, other than I’m having a good time and I’m working on something I love. So that’s a win/win right there.”
Moon Knight was Marvel’s first step into a more supernatural side of the MCU. Werewolf by Night is expected to be the next step in that story. Blade of course will be the main window into that Universe when that movie finally arrives. Could we be headed towards a Midnight Sons movie at some point down the road? Why the hell not I say? As Giacchino says, I’m sure we’ll hear more about Werewolf by Night soon.
However, despite Werewolf by Night not officially being announced, we know a little about it. For starters we knew Giacchino was directing and we know the star of the show, and the title character will be played by Gael García Bernal (pictured above). It is also known that Laura Donnelly is in the show and rumored to play Elsa Bloodstone.
As Giacchino says, Werewolf by Night is filming right now. Given this is a one-off Halloween Special, I’ll guess this will be ready to hit Disney+ late October of this year.
