What Can We Expect From Star Wars And Marvel At D23 Today

What can we expect from Star Wars and Marvel at the panel at D23 later today? Some fact, some Barside Buzz and some logic.

What can we expect from Star Wars and Marvel at the panel at D23 later today? Well, we have a little fact, a little Barside Buzz and some logical guess work. Let’s start with the one I’m expecting much less for, Star Wars. We also then start with the fact.

We know from one of the actors in Skeleton Crew that a first teaser trailer for the upcoming show will debut at D23. Young actor Robert Timothy Smith (Neel) posted that the first teaser was dropping today on his Instagram account. To be fair I think we all knew this was where we’d see the first teaser or trailer for a show that wrapped ages ago. But I seriously doubt the young actor wasn’t just passing on what he was told internally. Not very exciting news given what I think about Skeleton Crew so far, but we shall see.

However, outside of that I am really not expecting much. The Mandalorian and Grogu has begun filming. Therefore, it’s possible some BTS footage could be shown. Though, I don’t think we will get that. Maybe we get some cast on stage, but I honestly don’t think we will? No other footage is possible from any projects because the only one filming is Mando and Grogu. I Guess it’s possible they could announce a start date for the Rey sequel, or reveal a title? However, don’t expect anything more than a Skeleton Crew teaser. At least then you won’t be disappointed.

On the Marvel front, I’d also temper expectations. Rumors from a good source (Daniel RPK) says we should get teasers/trailers for Agatha All Along, Ironheart and Daredevil: Born Again. But don’t expect any movie news or anything else to be announced is the current buzz. I’ll watch Agatha, but I’m not excited for another trailer. The show I’m most interested in is Daredevil: Born Again. Yet, I’ll admit curiosity has me more intrigued to see Ironheart footage finally. That show has been sitting for quite some time in a completed state.

It seems highly unlikely there will be any movies ness today given there was no TV news from Marvel at SDCC. Though, it does seem possible we could get a first look at some of the upcoming animated projects. I’m not sure how far they all are along.

The presentation for Star Wars starts around midday PST with the Marvel and Pixar panel coming directly after it. So keep an eye out later for any new trailers as they drop. We’ll try to cover them when they do. Though, it is a little late at night for me over here in the U.K.. Shockey, I and the rest of the team will do our best. Though anything we fail to get today (Marvel/Star Wars), I will tackle tomorrow morning.

That’s what we can expect from Star Wars and Marvel at the panel at D23 later today. We could get some surprises, can’t rule that out. However, for now it seems less likely than it was at SDCC.

What do you think? As always, leave any thoughts below.
