What Does Avengers: Endgame’s Ending Mean For Spider-Man: Far From Home? [SPOILERS]

Disclaimer: This post contains major spoilers for Avengers: Endgame.

Avengers: Endgame is officially in theaters, and as expected, it has some interesting implications for future movies in the franchise. While this flick is the culmination of a 22-episode storyline, we know this won’t be the last time the Marvel Studios logo is plastered on the silver screen. In fact, in just a couple of months, we’ll be seeing Peter Parker suit up once again in the teen comedy film Spider-Man: Far From Home, which sees him and his classmates traveling abroad.

But what how does the ending of Avengers: Endgame set up that escapade? Well, as it stands, it looks like the story in the MCU will continue on five years in the future, with “survivors” remembering those five years without half of the population, and the “vanished” remembering being snapped out of existence before returning to a whole new world. The implication here is that for Spider-Man: Far From Home, we’ll actually be dealing with a world where some of Peter’s classmates may have aged out of high school and are already at a different stage of their lives.

As it stands, based on what we’ve seen in the trailer, it looks like pretty much all of the main cast from Spider-Man: Homecoming are still young, meaning they were all “vanished” by Thanos, which is interesting. Of course, there is speculation that the class field trip Peter was in on Infinity War was the trip from abroad, but as Peter said to Tony in that movie, he was actually returning from The Museum of Modern Art. So, unless the trip takes place before that even, I think it’s very likely that Far From Home takes place in a post-decimated world.

Of course, none of this has been confirmed by Marvel Studios, and we’re just reading tea leaves here, but it all seems to match up. If this is, in fact, true, how do you feel that most of Peter’s friends didn’t survive The Decimation? Do you not buy it? Let us know down below!
