What If…? from Marvel Studios premiered their fifth episode today titled What If… Zombies!? Which I think was one of the most anticipated episodes of this season. Combining the horror genre of Zombies with the beloved MCU just seems like a good time. Due to reasons, we won’t spoil here in this piece, a zombie virus has spread around the globe. Now a group of surviving heroes will attempt to find a cure. In their way are zombified Avengers including Captain America, Iron Man, Hawkeye, and others.
What has been fantastic about the What If…? series is the range of episodes that we have received. These have been able to evoke all sorts of responses. Everything from the excitement of seeing Peggy Carter kick butt as Captain Carter. To the emotional memorial episode featuring T’Challa voiced by the late and beloved Chadwick Boseman. They are able to use fan-favorite stories from over ten years of the Marvel Cinematic Universe to now tell these amazing stories.
Stories that even in the Multiverse now created in the live-action films and television series may be too far out of reach of the Marvel Studios. Unless you animate it! Overall it takes a lot of work to put together these episodes. Right down to the people behind the scenes like the Editors.

We bring them up because LRM Online’s Emmanuel Gomez had the opportunity to talk with two of the Editors for Marvel Studios’ What If…? They are Graham Fisher and Joel Fisher. During Our conversation, we talked about some of their responsibilities as Editors for such an important series. As well as if there were any limitations to the stories they wanted to tell. It was a great conversation that you can check out down below!
“What If…?” flips the script on the MCU, reimagining famous events from the films in unexpected ways. Marvel Studios’ first animated series focuses on different heroes from the MCU, featuring a voice cast that includes a host of stars who reprise their roles. Directed by Bryan Andrews with AC Bradley as head writer, “What If…?” is now playing exclusively on Disney+. With new episodes every Wednesday!
